Scott W Haapanen

Scott W. Haapanen, 55, died on January 11, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center due to heart complications. Scott was born in Springfield on August 31, 1963 and attended Springfield schools. He was a very skilled carpenter and was employed as a contractor for many years. Survivors include his wife, Tammy, his parents Sharon (Victor) Alessandri and Eric (Sally) Haapanen, his daughter Sara Haapanen and her son Nicholas Pavone, his sons, Riley Haapanen, Bailey Haapanen and his stepson, Geremy Linsky. He also leaves his brothers, Mark (Traci) Haapanen and Brian (Debbie) Haapanen, as well as his nieces, nephew and extended family. Scott was predeceased by his brothers Craig Haapanen and Jon Haapanen, and his sister, Lisa Nemeth. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 22nd, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow, followed by a Memorial Service at 12:30 pm.
