Rudolph F. Cressotti

Springfield- Rudolph F. Cressotti of Springfield died January 18, 2022 surrounded by his loving family, at Mercy Medical Center, Springfield.
Rudolph was born to the late Agostino and Caterina (Consolini) Cressotti. Rudolph graduated from the former Springfield Technical High School, in Springfield, in 1948. He was employed by Smith-Corona Typewriter Co. for 45 years, first as a typewriter repairman, then Sales Manager and retired in 1993 as District Sales Manager in Charge of Sales in Western New England. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict in the Quarter Master Corp. He was a member of American Legion Post 0277, Chicopee Elks #2849 and past Honorary Member of Knights of Columbus Gasper Bertoni Council. Rudy was predeceased by his brothers, Gino and Golfo; and his sisters, Gina Cressotti and Dorothy Cressotti.
He leaves 2 sons, Frank Cressotti and Joseph Cressotti his wife Lyn; 3 daughters, Kathleen Provenzano her husband Jack, Debra Marinone her husband Mark, Joanne Hartnett ; and nine grandchildren, Jennifer Imme, Gina Marinone, Michael, Joseph, Anthony Provenzano, Connor, Kevin Hartnett, Jason, Katelyn Cressotti; a niece and nephew Karen and Mark of Connecticut; special friend and “Dance Partner”, Josephine Carter. He was very close to and leaves many cousins in the Springfield and Connecticut area. The family would like to thank Kimberly and Melissa for their kind and diligent care that they provided Rudolph . Funeral services will be held at 9:00AM , Thursday January 27, 2022 from the Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 123 Williams St., Springfield. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Springfield. The family will receive friends from 4:00PM-7:00PM on Wednesday January 26, 2022 in the funeral home.
