Marjorie J. Fredette

Springfield – Marjorie “Mac” Judith (McNamara) Fredette, 94, beloved mother and grandmother passed away on January 16, 2019 at Life Care Center of Wilbraham. She was born in Springfield, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Healy) McNamara on June 28, 1924. Marjorie was a 1942 graduate of Sacred Heart High School. She worked for 28 years as an auditor for Sears, Roebuck and Company. Marjorie was an avid reader and loved mysteries on her Kindle and watching the news. She was very proud of her Irish Heritage and loved being a grandmother. She will be greatly missed for her wonderful smile and her happy demeanor. In addition to her parents, Marjorie was predeceased by her former husband, Joseph J. Fredette; her brother, Robert McNamara; and her sister, Barbara McNamara. She leaves her sons, Robert Fredette and his wife Diane of Jensen Beach, FL, and Thomas Fredette and his wife Chris of Brimfield; her daughter, Candace McKenna of East Longmeadow; 4 grandchildren, Danielle, Dana and his wife Rebecca, Allison and her husband Ken, and Mark and his wife Nicole; 5 great-grandchildren, Ryan and Braeden, Anthony, Brooke, and Hailey. A celebration of Marjorie’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 23rd at 10AM in Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Springfield. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
