Obituary

Longmeadow – Lisa Ingeborg (Hellquist) Gore, 56, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and dear friend died unexpectedly due to an aortic aneurism on Tuesday, September 17, 2019. She was born in Springfield to the late George and Nancy (Nelson) Hellquist on June 17, 1963. Lisa was a 1981 graduate of Agawam High School. She earned her Associates Degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management from Endicott College, went on to further her education at Westfield State College, earning her Bachelor’s Degree, and concluded her Master’s in Education at American International College. Lisa was a dental office manager in Utah for 2 years and a sales associate for J. Jill and Francesca’s in Longmeadow for 8 years. She found her home in the Longmeadow Public School System working as a paraprofessional at Wolf Swamp and Center Schools for the past 8 years. She loved working to make a difference in the lives of the students in her care. Every year Lisa especially enjoyed sponsoring a creative Christmas tree for the Boys and Girls Club Festival of Trees in Springfield with her husband Alan. As a member of the 4RUN3 Running Club Lisa enjoyed many friendships. She also was an avid skier and gardener. She was well known as the #1 Red Sox fan and a strong supporter of the Republican Party. Above all Lisa’s greatest joy was her son, Michael and spending the summer with him home from college. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her for her kind, giving ways. Lisa is survived by her devoted husband Alan; her loving son, Michael; her sisters, Karen Carpenter and her husband Amos of Granville, MA and Christine Impoco of Southwick; and her many cherished nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Tony Impoco. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, September 22nd from 4-8PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow. Lisa’s funeral service will be held on Monday, September 23rd from the funeral home at 9:15AM followed by a service at First Church of Christ Longmeadow, 763 Longmeadow St., Longmeadow at 11AM.
