Kathie Jane Koldys

Kathie Jane Koldys, 68, of Springfield passed away peacefully from Alzheimer’s on June 18, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Gloria Kemple and she leaves her loving husband of 49 years Alexander Wayne Koldys. Kathie was the devoted mother of two children, Steven A. Koldys (Victoria) and Sandra A. DiPietro (David) and grandmother to three cherished grandchildren Cameron Koldys, Mason and Parker DiPietro. She also leaves her brothers Robert W. Kemple Jr., William Kemple, and James B. Kemple; sisters Carol A. Avery and Candice Cipolla, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Barbara Bretta. Kathie was a daycare provider for many years. She loved Old Orchard Beach, ME, her arts and crafts, and most of all, her family. She spent many enjoyable hours with her husband shopping, and the company of the employees at the Salvation Army on Boston Road in Springfield. She was always of the lookout for the most sparkly clothing and jewelry. Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday June 21, 2018 from 4-7 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow. Funeral services will be held at 9 AM on Friday, June 22, 2018 at the funeral home followed by burial at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Main Street, Agawam, MA at 11 AM.
