John J. O'Hare

John J. O’Hare, 61, passed away on October 7, 2021 at Holyoke Medical Center. Born in Holyoke, MA on September 28, 1960 to the late William A. and Mary D. (McGraw) O’Hare, he grew up at Whitewoods Riding Academy in Ludlow and graduated from Ludlow High School.

Over the years, John had worked for several local roofing companies. To serve the community, he was a member of the Lion’s Club and the St. Patrick’s Committee in Agawam and was fundamental in starting the Veterans’ Free Lunch Program in Agawam.

John also was a longtime communicant of St. David’s Episcopal Church in Agawam and member of the choir. He was a member of the All State and All District Choir as well. In his spare time, John loved antiquing with his friend Harry Camyre and enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casinos.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Jill A. O’Hare. To cherish his memory, John leaves his brother Jude O’Hare and his wife Sue of Agawam; his niece Melissa Grant and her husband Robert; his nephew Patrick O’Hare and his wife Kristin; his step-nephew Gerry Gosselin and his wife Michelle Williams; and many grandnieces and grandnephews.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 4 – 7 PM at Colonial Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 985 Main Street, Agawam. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. David’s Episcopal Church, 699 Springfield Street, Feeding Hills.

Memorial contributions in John’s memory may be made to St. David’s Episcopal Church.
