John J Cardone

John J. Cardone, 85, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2021, under the dedicated care his loving wife of 66 years, Sylvia (Vasilocosta) Cardone. Born in Springfield, MA on April 3, 1936, he was the son of the late Joseph and Bertha (Desmarais) Cardone.

John was a graduate of Agawam High School and Springfield College. As a youth he started working at his father Joe’s Agawam Public Market. John was an officer of Valley Bank where he managed the main branch in downtown Springfield. After 22 years of banking, he joined his wife in managing their own business, Medical Personnel Pool of West Springfield. John was an avid golfer, lucky enough to score 6 hole-in-ones. He was a member of Springfield Country Club and Pine Tree of Boynton, FL.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Phillip Cardone. To cherish his memory, John leaves his children, Darlene Fortin and husband Paul of FL; John J. Cardone Jr. and partner Sue Parchick of MA and Christopher Cardone and wife Carol of, FL; his grandchildren John J. Cardone, III, Luke Cardone, Lisa Cardone and Stephen Cardone; his great grandchildren Grace, Sophia and Taylor Cardone; his sisters Theresa Lovotti and her husband Joseph, and Patricia Allsop as well as many nieces and nephews.

John will lie in state from 9 – 10 AM on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 in St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church, 400 Prospect St. East Longmeadow with a service to follow at 10 AM. Burial will be in Agawam Center Cemetery, Main St. Agawam.
