Obituary


EAST LONGMEADOW – Jay G. Caron, 60, passed away on October 20, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield, MA on March 17, 1960, to the late Richard R. and Katherine T. (Joyce) Caron, Jay graduated from Springfield College with his Bachelor’s Degree in Business.

Jay was the President & CEO of the family business, Bee-Line Corp. in Springfield. Jay was a Founder and Board Member of NUVO Bank & Trust as well. He also served as Advisor to the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department.

Jay was the Founder of the Youth Lacrosse program in East Longmeadow and was a Western MA Lacrosse Hall of Fame Inductee. He was also the recipient of the US Lacrosse Man of the Year award for the Western Massachusetts chapter. These are just a few of the countless endeavors he had taken on throughout his life.

To cherish his memory, Jay leaves his loving wife Katie Caron of East Longmeadow; his sons Benjamin Caron and his girlfriend Gabriela Gonzalez of Jersey City, NJ and Samuel Caron and his wife Jaclyn of Warwick, RI as well as their dog Molly, Jay’s special friend; his brothers Reverend David G. Caron of LA, Daniel G. Caron and his wife Stacy of OH and Brian G. Caron of FL; his sister Beth Ann Latsko and her husband Tom of East Longmeadow; his uncle and aunt William and Madeleine Cunningham as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jay made such an incredible impact on so many people. His loss will be felt by all.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, October 30, 2020 from 4 – 8 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 519 Longmeadow Street, Longmeadow. Everyone that plans to attend the funeral in person is asked to meet directly at church. The family is arranging a live stream of the church service for those who cannot attend. For more information, please contact Forastiere Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Tinkham Road, Springfield. MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING ARE REQUIRED WHILE ATTENDING ALL SERVICES. The family of Jay asks that those attending please respect these requirements.
