Gennaro “James” Stellato, 84, of Feeding Hills, passed away peacefully June 16, 2021. Born March 4, 1937 in Bracigliano, Italy, he was a son to the late Pietro and Emilia (Leone) Stellato. He was owner/operator of his own landscaping company until his retirement. Gennaro’s favorite pastimes were gardening, playing cards, making homemade wine and savoring the peaceful moments while sitting under his grapevines. In his early days he enjoyed hunting and playing bocce. His greatest passion, however, was spending time with his family, especially the Sunday family dinners where he and his family would enjoy the homemade tomato sauce made with tomatoes from his garden. He is survived by his 7 children Peter Stellato and his wife, Giovannina, Joe Stellato and Suzanne Long all of Feeding Hills, Mario Stellato and his wife, Debbie of Agawam, Emilia Scala and her husband, Vincent of Feeding Hills, Rosa Signorelli of Agawam, Tina Goldberg of West Springfield, and James Stellato Jr. and his wife, Cindy of Agawam; 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and other loving family, including family from Italy and numerous friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his devoted wife of 65 yrs. Josephine F. (Cardaropoli) Stellato; grandson Peter Stellato Jr.; brothers Mario, Umberto, Amedeo and Claudio Stellato; and sisters Carmela Stellato and Rosa Daniele. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, June 21, 2021 from 4-7PM at Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam. Gennaro’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 22nd beginning at 8:30AM at the funeral home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial, to be celebrated at 10AM, in Our Lady of Mt.
