Frederick E Guyer

Hampden - Frederick E. Guyer, 81, died October 18, 2019. He was born in Springfield on April 15, 1938 to the late Ralph and Catherine (Doyle) Guyer. Raised in Springfield, he graduated from Technical High School in 1956 where he played on their All Western Mass Football team. His career started in 1963 when he joined the Springfield Fire Department. He was a highly decorated Firefighter and retired as a Fire Lieutenant in January 1999 with 36 years of service. He will be missed by his sister Mary Elizabeth Buckley of Kensington CT; his brothers Ralph Guyer and his wife Janet of Wilbraham, Walter Guyer and his wife Sandra of Hampden, and Edward Guyer and his wife Diane of East Longmeadow, and several nieces, nephews; and his stepchildren Michele and Christopher. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Eleanor, his brothers Gerald Guyer of Springfield and Robert Guyer of Monson, and his sister Catherine Stamm of Wilbraham.
