Frances A. Donofrio

Frances Angelina (Visone) Donofrio, 92, of Agawam, MA, passed away peacefully Monday, April 15, 2019 at Wingate of Hampden. Born October 13, 1926 in Hartford, CT, she was the last surviving child of the late Raffaele and Angelina (Firelli) Visone. Frances attended Trade School in Hartford, CT as a dressmaker and was also employed with Pioneer Parachute Company during WWII. She worked for 25 years as a Pharmacy Clerk for Shop-Rite and also 25 years as a school crossing guard for the Hartford Police Department, something she thoroughly loved. Once moving to Agawam, she was a School Lunch Monitor for James Clark School in Agawam for 5 years. Frances is survived by her daughters Angela Bedore and her husband, Dennis of Orlando, FL and Kathy Wheeler of Agawam and her companion Paul Boucher of Dudley, MA; granddaughter Amy Bedore of Orlando, FL; grandson Kevin Wheeler and his fiancé Laura Wyckoff of Westlake, OH; and several nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband James V. Donofrio in 2003; daughter Karen Donofrio in 2000; sisters Theresa, Rose, Lily, Mary; and brothers Louis, Nick and Tony. Calling hours for Frances will be held from 11AM-1PM on Friday, April 26, 2019 at Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam with a celebration of life service beginning at 1PM.
