Evelyn Joyal

Evelyn Joyal, 95, entered into eternal rest Monday, December 9, 2019. Born July 24, 1924 in Springfield, MA, she was a daughter to the late Joseph and Margaret (Lanzetta) Polcetti and lived in Longmeadow for over 50 years. She enjoyed gardening, taking an occasional trip to the Casino and cooking. Her family will always remember the countless Sunday meals she enjoyed preparing. There was no greater joy for Evelyn than spending time and caring for her family, especially watching her grandchildren grow. She will be truly missed by her large loving family and all who knew her. She leaves her children Francine Calvanese and her husband Alphonse of Longmeadow, MA, Mary Joyal of Belchertown, MA and John Joyal Jr. and his wife Kelly of Longmeadow, MA. She will also be missed by her 10 grandchildren: John, Alphonse, Glen and Michael Calvanese, Chuntelle Warchelak, Mariah Waite and Trevor, Katelyn, Robert and Carly Joyal; and her 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her devoted husband of 75 years John C. Joyal Sr., who just recently passed away on December 2, 2019. A gathering of family and friends for Evelyn will be held from 10:30-11:30AM on Friday, December 13, 2019 from Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., East Longmeadow, MA with a funeral service beginning at 11:30AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.
