David M. McDonald 74, husband of 54 years to Gail (Champagne) McDonald, passed away on January 11, 2021 surrounded by his family.
Born in Holyoke, he was the son of the late Malcolm and Alice (Ruel) McDonald. He was a resident of Agawam for 21 years and previously lived in Ludlow for 31 years. David retired as a Program Analyst for Aetna Life & Casualty, Hartford; where he was employed for over 30 years. He then worked part time as a real estate agent. David was a soccer coach in the Ludlow youth program. He also served in the Army Reserves. In addition to his wife, David is survived by one son, Tom McDonald and his wife Jae of Norton, MA; one daughter, Sherrie Habrat and her husband Guy of Feeding Hills, MA; one sister, Joyce Mocarski of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; 4 grandchildren, Danielle Habrat and her fiancé Michael Hicks, Emily Habrat, Carly McDonald and Lane McDonald; along with extended family members.
Visitation will take place from 9:00AM-11:00AM, on Saturday January 16, 2021 in Colonial Forastiere Family Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam, with a funeral home service to follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private.
