Christine S Krol

Christine S. Krol, 86, beloved wife for 65 years of Alfred A. Krol, passed away peacefully on Mon., Aug. 13 at home. Born in Conway, MA, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Teofilia (Kulis) Jerominek, the last of ten daughters raised on a dairy and tobacco farm. A graduate of Greenfield High School, Christine married the love of her life and best friend in 1952. Together they raised three children and several special dogs. After moving several times, Christine and Alfred settled in Longmeadow where they happily resided for over 50 years. Christine enjoyed a good game of cards, spoiling her grandchildren, and a glass of wine with her precious "Da." She enjoyed summer time at Hampton Beach, day trips to the casino, Polish food, square dancing and the Sox. She was first and foremost a gentle, loving mother and grandmother. She will be forever missed by her children Steven (Eileen) Krol of Sunderland, Allyson (Lee) Hollenbeck of Wilmington, and Christine (Michael) Cox of Longmeadow; seven beloved grandchildren: Ashley, Amanda, Christopher, Robin, Robert, Adam and Samantha; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She had a special place in her heart for her oldest sister Helen, and her niece Carolyn. The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to their devoted team of caregivers. Funeral services will begin at 9:45AM on Fri., Aug. 17 from Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., E. Longmeadow with a Liturgy of Christian Burial, to be celebrated at 11 AM in St. Mary's Church, 519 Longmeadow St., Longmeadow. Burial will follow in Longmeadow Cemetery.
