Abigail Cignoli

Springfield – Abigail “Abbie” Catherine (Moore) Cignoli, passed away on October 10, 2018 just shy of her 85th birthday. She was born in Holyoke on October 23, 1933 to the late John and Abigail (Bowler) Moore Sr. Abbie was a 1951 graduate of Holyoke High School. She was the secretary for her brother’s business, Jack Moore Associates in West Springfield for over 25 years retiring in 2012. An active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church she was in the Mt. Carmel Women’s Club and St. Vincent DePaul. She was a longtime participant in the Women’s Health Initiative. Abbie loved animals, crocheting and knitting. She will be greatly missed for her outgoing personality. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her loving husband of 43 years Robert P. Cignoli who passed in 2000. She leaves her 3 children, Catherine Andrade and her husband Thomas of Webster, MA, Christopher Cignoli and his wife Emilia of Springfield, and Francis Cignoli of Springfield; 5 grandchildren, Amanda and her fiancé Frank, Robert and his wife Amanda, Emily, Matthew and his wife Alix, and Elizabeth and her husband Jay; 4 great-granddaughters, Taylor, Kylie, Hayley, and Brady; a brother, Jack Moore and his wife Carol of Millbury, MA; a sister, Kathleen Gagne and her husband Ronald of South Hadley, MA. The family wishes to thank the staff at the ICU Unit at Mercy Hospital and the 3rd floor staff at Wingate of Springfield for their compassionate care. A time of visitation will be held at Forastiere Smith Funeral and Cremation, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow on Monday, October 15th from 7:30AM-9AM followed by a procession to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Springfield for a Funeral Mass at 10AM. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society, P.O.
