A. Lona Glassanos

West Springfield – A. Lona Glassanos, 90, passed away peacefully at Baystate Medical Center on Monday, March 19, 2018 with her family and friends at her side. Born in Springfield to the late Paul T. Glassanos and Mary (Zara) Glassanos. Educated in Springfield, Lona was a 1944 graduate of Commerce High School. In 1980 she became Marketing Director for all the Paysaver stores. In prior years she was an account executive at Rock 102 WAQY, WIXY, and WSPR. Lona is survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her two brothers John and Harry Glassanos, and two sisters Diana Cote and Thora Gorgos. She enjoyed playing golf plus bowling. In 1977, Lona was a single woman who had the courage to have a home built for her in West Springfield, she was proud to have accomplished that on her own. She was also proud of being a Great Great Great Great Aunt. A visiting hour will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018, from 9:15am-10:15am at Colonial Forastiere Funeral & Cremation in Agawam followed by a funeral mass at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral at 11am.
