Alderic A. Christian

Agawam – Alderic “Al” A. Christian, Jr., 82, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle passed away at home with his loving family by his side. He was born in West Springfield to the late Alderic A., Sr. and Anna (Scott) Christian. Al proudly served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was a letter carrier for the U. S. Postal Service for 32 years until he retired in 1993. Al was head cook in The Grove at Six Flags New England for 15 years. He was a member of the National Letter Carriers Association, Branch # 46 and a member of the American Legion Post 185. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 49 years, Julia (Zarlengo) Christian in 2007; his cherished grandchildren, Janelle Christian and Branden Fontaine; his sister, Patricia Christian; and his brother Ricky Christian. Al leaves his children, David Christian of Agawam, Sueanne Morisset of Orange, MA, Sharon Christian of Agawam, and Daniel Christian and his wife Deborah of West Springfield; his grandchildren, Brenda, Elizabeth, Stephanie, Cynthia, Becca, Will, and Michael; his brothers, David Christian and his wife Patricia, Sam, Steve, Joe, John, and Donny; sisters Lynda, Debra, and Kathy; and his step-mother, Jackie Dora of Westfield. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 18th from 4-7PM at Southwick Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Southwick. A funeral home service will be held on Thursday, October 19th at 9AM at Southwick Forastiere Funeral Home followed by Committal Service with Military Honors in Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.
